Our Mineral Oil Project
Fully Submerged & Functional!
One day at Computerland....
With all the talk online, whether it is possible or not to submerge a computer into *Mineral Oil we have decided to try it ourselves and this is what we came up with.
Computer Specifications
- Windows XP Professional Edition
- Intel 82865 Chipset // Pentium 4 2.8GHz
- 80GB SATA 7200RPM Hard Drive
- 512MB DDR 667 RAM
This is our beauty we came up with, we did not submerge the hard drive since the mineral oil can seep in and destroy the drive. However some people have done it with success, but do not expect your hard drive to last very long for that matter. We suggest not to use anything but mineral oil, such as Sunflower Oil, Baby Oil, since they will rott out your hardware. If you want to go a cheap route you can use motor oil, but the stench of it can make you steer clear away from it.
